Terelj is the most popular destination in the third biggest protected area in Mongolia, the Khan Khentii Protected Area. This is the motherland of Chinggis Khaan, and contains numerous important historical and cultural sites.
The park lies at an altitude of 1600 m and offers activities such as hiking, river rafting, horse riding, skiing and rock climbing.
